Compared to other ballroom dances, Latin dances are generally faster-paced, more sensual and have more rhythmic expression. Known for its sensual hip action and sexy flair, Latin dance is gaining popularity on dance floors everywhere. Besides being a staple in the ballroom, many Latin dances are also being taken to country-western dance floors. Learning Latin dances is fairly easy, as most of the dances are made up of the same basic footsteps.

“Ballroom dance” is the overall umbrella term covering multiple styles of dance such as waltz, foxtrot, swing, etc. The classes focus on teaching students to become good social dancers. Social dancers reap many benefits from this fun energetic activity. Competent social dancers are always welcome and in great demand at social events. Learning to dance is for all ages and abilities.

Known as “kicker dancing” by Texans, country dancing refers to a variety of dance styles, techniques and moves, usually danced to country-western music. Country and western dancers practice in country-western dance bars, clubs and ballrooms. If you enjoy listening to country-western music and wearing cowboy boots, you may get a kick out of country and western dancing.
